Why hasn’t there been any new posts on the blog? What happened? Where have you been? Is something wrong? Are you okay?

I heard this from many of you wondering why there was nothing after March. Like you, life happened to my website company and to me personally. The issues with the website folks is too lengthy to go into, but everything is getting back up and once again running much better. In April, I was preparing for a very major surgery that was to have happened the first part of May 2021, but due to issues with the surgeon having emergencies on his end, it was postponed until the end of May. With my website folks not receiving messages, due to a miscommunication that happened, I was lost and couldn’t tend to the site like I needed to do.

Being the planner that I am, and knowing the type of surgery I was having would make it tremendously difficult to prepare meals, I took time to prepare eight weeks of main dishes and side dishes for the freezer so we would have meals to thaw and heat up. The surgery I had was a Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement, which was due to a torn tendon, and because arthritis had degenerated that joint enough that a Rotator Cuff repair was out of the question. Believe me, you are very limited in what activities you can do. Think about that for a minute. You cannot move your arm very much at all for a few days. Luckily, I knew that movement would be imperative, so I was religious about doing my passive exercises that the therapy department showed me to do three times per day. That helped my progress move much quicker than if I had just sat and waited until I could get in to Physical Therapy. I was fortunate to have an Occupational Therapist come to my home twice per week for five weeks prior to heading to PT, and even more fortunate that she was also a Licensed Massage Therapist. She had me so far advanced to some patients that haven’t had any type of therapy for six weeks following their surgery, which is the normal time of waiting.

I tried typing one-handed, but that wasn’t working well for me. Anyway, I am 14-weeks post surgery now, and almost ready to be released early from my PT. I have worked out the way the therapist has instructed me to do at home, when not going to PT twice per week., and I have made amazing progress, even surprising myself. I will need to continue doing these exercises with stretching and weights for many more months, as it takes right at a full year to have up to 90% range of motion returned. Slowly, I am getting settled into my new normal, and getting posts ready for the blog.

Why is there a delay on the book being published? Well, the company that I started working with for the Backyard Gold book left me high and dry. When I notified them I had it ready to submit for the eBook, which was the way it was going to be done at first, they informed me they were no longer doing publishing for self-published authors so I have been researching other avenues. I will let you know when this is finally a GO. Actually, releasing it during the winter months will be a better time so those that want to begin selling what they grow will have time to read it and get plans made and research done.

Thank you all for your concerns. Remember: KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
